Dissolved oxygen and compressed air, powered by water

Koohub HMTR is designed for farms with flowing water and at least one metre of available head. Using the energy of water flow, it delivers water saturated with dissolved oxygen regardless of the inlet dissolved-oxygen level, while supplying compressed air at a typical pressure of 0.7 bar. Process gases such as ozone can also be dissolved using a suitable configuration and compatible materials.

HMTR requires no electricity or fuel to operate. Its composite body and design without moving parts provide a design life of at least 25 years, with no internal maintenance required under standard operating conditions.

To estimate dissolved-oxygen equilibrium for your water temperature and site altitude, use the calculator on the HMTR page.

Four suggested installation locations

The location and number of devices are selected to suit the water route and the farm’s needs. Each system can discharge directly into tanks or into a distribution channel.

1: Inlet · 2: Intermediate stage · 3: Outlet · 4: Outside the farm.

1. Farm inlet

Bring water to dissolved-oxygen saturation before distributing it to the ponds. Ozone transfer for inlet disinfection can also be considered with a compatible configuration and a separately designed treatment process.

2. Intermediate stage

Restore oxygen saturation, for example after the first production stage. The outlet can feed a distribution channel or supply individual ponds directly.

3. Farm outlet

Supply compressed air or dissolve gas for a separately designed disinfection or effluent-quality improvement process.

4. A watercourse outside the farm

If the farm has a limited water supply but a larger flow is available nearby, use that flow to produce compressed air and pipe the air to the farm for the required applications.

Inlet water flow per device: 20–1,000 litres per second

Device dimensions are selected to suit the water flow and site conditions.

Equipment is selected according to the available air flow and pressure and the farm’s requirements.

Airlift pump

Air-powered water transfer at low head; dimensions and installation depth are selected to suit the transfer route.

Airlift mixer

Air-driven circulation and mixing, configured for the pond’s geometry and depth.

Pneumatic pond vacuum

Collect sediment from the pond floor. Air enters through the hollow handle, while water and sediment leave through a separate hose.
